Job Description

Grand Canyon University's Student Success department is currently seeking a Student Success Program Manager with an emphasis in Data Analysis to support the department with student academic data analytics. The Student Success Program Manager tracks all student data and develops reports and presentations to present data in academic committee meetings for decision making, as well as recommends and executes improvements for academic internal processes.

Responsibilities:

Program Management:

  • Coordinates all aspects of a "program" to achieve stated goals.

  • May be responsible for drafting program/process guidelines and documenting all needed guidelines to achieve any accreditation needed.

  • Coordinates data collection and preparation of required reports regarding programs.

  • Prepares documents required for approval of new or revised academic programs or initiatives.

Academic Research/Reporting Support Services:

  • Responsible for all student academic data analysis.

  • Assists faculty and college/university administration with creating improvement plans to enhance student learning/performance.

  • Facilitates the programmatic review.

  • Tracks all student data, e.g., withdrawals, failures.

  • Develops reports and presentations as required to present data for decision making.

  • Participates in academic committee meetings as appropriate.

  • Recommends and executes improvements for academic internal processes within college.

  • Serves as the key liaison with programmatic issues and informs college/university administration as appropriate.

Student Focus/Customer Service:

  • Troubleshoots student issues through research and internal investigation and ensures a high level of student service.

  • May intervene in course/class substitution to ensure resources are available to maintain classroom learning.

  • May act as primary contact for all student issues related to programs and is responsible for coordinating the resolution of student issues at the college level. Ensures that students receive a response within a reasonable time period. 

  • May be involved in outreach activities or campus activities which contribute to campus life and student/staff engagement.

Miscellaneous:

  • Supports the program by updating all collateral material, catalog, websites, and provides key information updates to all.

  • Assists with the hiring, supervision, and evaluation of student workers or other resources needed to achieve program objectives. Delegates/assigns projects to others as necessary.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree required. Master's Degree preferred.

  • Minimum two years’ relevant work experience, preferably in an academic environment.  

  • An equivalent combination of education and directly-related work experience may be substituted upon supervisor’s approval.

  • An effective and collaborative team player with ability to communicate and interact with all levels within GCU and diverse cultures.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with a good command of the English language.

  • Demonstrates a high level of initiative; judicious in carrying out assignments without direction.

  • Strong planning and organizational skills. Demonstrates a systematic approach in carrying out assignments. Effectively establishes and meets priorities and timelines.

  • Strong Analytical Skills. Ability to synthesize complex or diverse information, collect and research data, and design work flows and procedures.

  • Exhibits the highest standards of dedication and commitment to quality service to meet or exceed student requirements.

  • Able to identify problems, evaluate alternative solutions, and make final recommendations.

  • Accountability.  Accepts full responsibility for results; takes positive action to meet responsibilities.

  • Ethics and Integrity.  Maintains a high degree of business ethics and integrity and sets example for same.

  • Computer/Technical Proficiency. Demonstrates knowledge in navigating and maneuvering routine office software (email, MS Office  Suite, etc.) and proprietary software.

  • Must pass pre-employment background check(s).

  • Provide a positive example to students by supporting the University’s Doctrinal Statement, Ethical Position Statement and Mission of Grand Canyon University.
