Job Description

Grand Canyon University is currently seeking a Riverbed Supervisor. Under the direction of the Student Engagement Activities Manager, the Riverbed Supervisor will work diligently to supervise, maintain, and efficiently operate the Riverbed facilities/amenities as well as its related student workers.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain multitude of amenities and their related equipment located within the facility, including but not limited to billiards, ping-pong, shuffleboard, air hockey, cornhole, arcade machines, board games, movie screen, etc.

  • Perform preventative maintenance and repair (within reason) of amenities listed above (e.g., keeps track of wear and tear on social games and their related equipment, replaces broken/dangerous equipment as necessary, monitors variations/errors in any electronic equipment, ensures board games have all necessary pieces and are located in proper section).

  • Work at service counter, issues auxiliary game equipment, oversees use of quiet area/study rooms, oversees movie theater area and caters to the needs of attendees accordingly.

  • Instructs customers in use of facility/amenities as well as rules/regulations throughout facility.

  • Identify replacement parts and supplies; prepares orders.

  • Maintain accurate records of parts/equipment, costs and overall performance of electrical equipment.

  • Train and oversee hourly student worker employees.

  • Assist in preparing annual forecasting of major improvements and repair programs.

  • Organize and prepare events in partnership with other GCU departments.

  • Communicate with other GCU departments to execute student focused events.

  • Oversight of student workers serving as customer service desk assistants as needed.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree required.

  • Formal training/prior experience in moderately paced customer service areas highly encouraged.

  • Must work a variety of day, night, and weekend shifts as needed.

  • Must pass a pre-employment background investigation.

  • Must have a valid drivers license with clean driving record.
