Course: Social Media Communities

Communities are built from people sharing together. Students learn to build and evaluate communities using industry standard tools. They create content after understanding the personalities of those communities, and work to motivate those communities toward appropriate outcomes.

What You Will Do:

  • Facilitate classroom lecture and discussions while incorporating innovative teaching strategies.
  • Engage students in cutting-edge technologies and industry trends.
  • Assess student performance and mentor classroom success to prepare them for their chosen career path.
  • Provide a positive example to students by supporting the University’s Doctrinal Statement, Ethical Position Statement and Mission of Grand Canyon University.

What You Will Bring:

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Advertising, Graphic Design, Journalism, Multi-media Journalism, Marketing, Public Relations, or a related field.
  • Master’s Degree preferred.
  • Experience working with social media management programs, developing social communities, community dynamics, written, visual and video content creation, social listening and responding. Knowledge of the Adobe digital products for desktop and phone.
    • Minimum 3 years applicable industry experience.
