Do you pride yourself on the ability to provide dining guests with a high-quality dining experience? Grand Canyon University is seeking multiple servers for our two state of the art restaurants Havoc House and Canyon 49.
Schedule: Must be able to work evenings and weekends.
What you will do:
- Welcome and greet guests and inform guests of specials and menu changes.
- Make recommendations you genuinely feel your guests will enjoy.
- Up-sell food and beverage items using suggestive selling techniques and be able to answer questions regarding regions where food products come from how food is prepared.
- Staying updated on current menu choices, specialties and menu deviations, knowing if the kitchen staff is running out of any items…etc.
- Maintaining proper dining experience, delivering items, fulfilling customer needs, offering desserts and drinks, removing courses, replenishing utensils, refilling glasses.
- Take food and beverage orders from guests, enter orders in POS system which relays orders to kitchen and bar and properly open and pour wine at the tableside.
- Performing basic cleaning tasks as needed or directed by supervisor.
What you need:
- High school diploma or GED equivalent and a minimum of 6 months’ experience as server.
- Must be able to obtain Maricopa Food Handler’s Card before employment.
- Basic knowledge of food presentation, preparation and handling.
- Adhere to grooming and appearance standards consistently.
- Possess basic math skills and have the ability to handle money and operate a POS system.
- Provides a professional image at all times through appearance and dress.
- Able to work well independently with little supervision
- Ability to learn the structure and function of all clubhouse and golf course.
- Ability to follow all OSHA and food handling procedures and be able to use fire extinguishers and any other emergency equipment needed to ensure personal and guest safety.
Job Requirements:
- Must be able to have flexible schedule, evenings, weekends and holidays if needed.
- Must have work authorization documents for United States.
- Must be fluent in English, ability to read and write.
