- Instruction for our Spring Semester begins on January 5, 2026, and ends on April 26, 2026 – Final Course Grades are due on May 3, 2026
Course: Public Speaking
This basic course in oral communication uses focused content to practice the principles of effective oral presentation. The lectures, speaking assignments, and all written work will acquaint the student with the theory, practice, and necessary technological literacy required for effective message building and presentation.
What You Will Do:
- Facilitate classroom lecture and discussions
- Engage students in learning course objectives and topics
- Assess student performance and mentor success in the classroom
- Provide a positive example to students by supporting the University’s Doctrinal Statement, Ethical Position Statement, and Mission of Grand Canyon University
What You Will Bring:
*Teaching Experience Required
- PhD in Communication OR
- Juris Doctorate (JD) OR
- Related terminal degree
- OR Master’s in Communication OR
- English OR
- Rhetoric OR
- MFA/Master’s in Theatre OR
- Master’s in Business Administration (MBA)
- All instructors must have public speaking experience or experience teaching public speaking
- Exceptions may be granted to individuals with a Master’s in any field possessing 18 graduate credits in Communication and substantial teaching experience
