Grand Canyon University’s College of Humanities and Social Sciences is seeking a full-time Lecturer faculty member to teach Bachelor’s level Psychology courses! We are especially interested in applicants who can strengthen the diversity of our academic community.

Please note: this is a 9 month full time faculty position based at our main campus in Phoenix, AZ with a start date of August 2023.

What you will do:

  • Teach undergraduate psychology courses

  • Maintain a student load of 220 students at T-2 level.

  • Available to teach during the day and possible evenings.

  • Assist students outside classroom hours.

  • Stay current on topics related to best practices related to psychology.

  • Active engagement in professional development activities.

  • Compliance with all college and University policies.

  • Assist with the integration of Christian worldview in the psychology programs. 

What you need:

  • Master’s degree in Psychology.  

  • Two-year instructional experience in psychology at the post-secondary level.

  • Familiarity with web enhanced instructional tools such as LoudCloud.

  • Familiarity with academic research.

  • Ability to articulate a clear understanding of values-based education from a Christian perspective.

  • Strong communication, time management and organizational skills.

  • Demonstrated teamwork, self-motivation, integrity, and commitment to maintaining high professional standards.

  • Provide a positive example to students by supporting the University’s Doctrinal Statement, Ethical Position Statement and Mission of Grand Canyon University.

Bonus Points:

  • Doctorate in Psychology. 

  • One year of traditional instructional experience in psychology at the post-secondary level.

  • Demonstrates excellence in teaching across multiple modalities.

  • Demonstrates excellence in teaching traditional and non-traditional students.

  • Demonstrates knowledge conducting academic research.

  • Demonstrates knowledge in curriculum writing, development, and review.
