The College of Nursing and Health Care Professions is seeking a Lead Faculty member for Speech Language Pathology.  This role will be located on ground at our 33rd and Camelback main campus

What you will do:

  • Teach undergraduate courses or graduate courses within the requisite discipline meeting the required course load requirements
  • Develop and provide instruction that incorporates current teaching methodologies, technologies and other trends that reflect advances in the requisite discipline educational instruction
  • Engage students within classroom to stimulate discussions for collective learning
  • Incorporate relevant research resources and experiential activities to support course objectives, lectures and learning outcomes
  • Compile bibliographies of specialized materials for outside reading
  • Assist students outside classroom hours and actively mentors students
  • Develop and administer forward thinking short and long term learning plans for students’ development and growth
  • Maintain compliance with requirements for program accreditation
  • Assess student performance in accordance with University Assessment Practices
  • Assist with curriculum design and development; be a sound advocate for change to programs, curriculum and teaching methodologies/pedagogies
  • Engages regularly in professional development activities
  • Participate actively in college or university committees for advancing the overall educational mission of the university
  • Foster and promote diversity and collegiality among faculty, students and staff
  • Provide leadership and mentorship to adjunct faculty
  • Develop and maintain relationships with professional contacts to support internship programs, project collaborations and student mentoring
  • Assist college administration in developing internal and external communities that promote the Colleges academic programs/majors
  • Maintain compliance with all college and University policies and program accreditation/licensure requirements
  • Effectively utilize assigned resources including any budget allocations

What you need:

  • Master’s in Speech Language Pathology required. Doctorate preferred.
  • Minimum 3 years work experience in the area of speech language pathology
  • Teaching experience preferred
  • Active, unencumbered Speech Language Pathology (SLP) license
  • Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech Language Pathology (CCC) Certification from American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA)   
  • Evidence of involvement in one’s professional area (e.g., membership in professional organizations, presentations, research and/or publications)
