Course: Introduction to Social Media

This course is an introduction and overview to social media tools and techniques. Students apply strategic thinking to the “why” and learn to plan, organize, and create digital content. Case studies will give reference and understanding of the changing landscape in this media market.
 

What You Will Do:

  • Facilitate classroom lecture and discussions while incorporating innovative teaching strategies.
  • Engage students in cutting-edge technologies and industry trends.
  • Assess student performance and mentor classroom success to prepare them for their chosen career path.
  • Provide a positive example to students by supporting the University’s Doctrinal Statement, Ethical Position Statement and Mission of Grand Canyon University.

What You Will Bring:

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Photography, Video, Advertising, Graphic Design, Journalism, Multi-media Journalism, Marketing, Public Relations, or a related field.
  • Master’s Degree preferred.
  • Experience in the planning, design, creation, and production of written, visual, photographic and video content for social media distribution.
  • Knowledge of the Adobe digital products for desktop and phone apps.
  • Minimum 3 years applicable industry experience.
