The GCU College of Nursing and Health Care Professions is hiring an onsite Health Science Clinical Simulation Coordinator. In this role, you will develop innovative, accreditation-compliant simulation-based learning experiences in collaboration with program leads. Your responsibilities will include managing advanced equipment, training faculty and staff, and recruiting standardized patients while ensuring regulatory compliance. You’ll have the opportunity to update the curriculum and pioneer new programs, making a significant impact on student success and the university's mission.

What You Will Do:

  • Curriculum and Accreditation Support: Collaborates with program leads to develop simulation-based learning for health science programs while ensuring compliance with accreditation and operational standards.

  • Simulation Operations Management: Maintains, troubleshoots, and ensures readiness of simulation equipment and facilities; provides training for faculty/staff and manages simulation schedules and supplies within budget.

  • Standardized Patient and Student Support: Recruits, trains, schedules standardized patients, and promotes compliance with OSHA, HIPAA, and FERPA regulations.

  • Technological Proficiency: Integrates advanced technologies like virtual reality and robotics to enhance online and face-to-face learning simulation activities.

  • Curriculum Development and Evaluation: Participates in updating health science curriculum, developing new programs, and maintaining accreditation-required scenario timelines and quality improvements.

  • Institutional Engagement: Fulfills faculty teaching and service duties, attends departmental meetings, and supports the university’s mission and ethical standards.

What You Will Have:

  • Master’s Degree

  • Current Certification as Simulation Healthcare Educator (CHSE) or willing to achieve certification within 12 months of hire.

  • All licensing or certifications must be active, current, and Unencumbered.

  • Must be able to work occasional weekends and/or evenings as needed.

  • Provide a positive example to students by supporting the University’s Doctrinal Statement, Ethical Position Statement and Mission of Grand Canyon University.

Bonus:

  • Doctorate Degree

  • Two years of clinical/simulation experience.

  • Prior experience teaching in clinical simulation.

  • National Certification in the Health Science Field (Occupational, Physical, or Speech Language Pathology Therapy).
