Graduate Assistant Club Sports
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Assist the department with all aspects of coaching a Club Sports intercollegiate program.
Recruitment of talented student-athletes.
Coach and coordinate in-season practices and contests.
General promotion and development of the sports program.
Comply with NCAA rules, University policies and department guidelines.
Assist with team community service projects, Leadership special events and camps.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: Position has no direct supervisory responsibilities but may have to assist in mentoring, or providing instructional coaching to less experienced staff members.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Knowledge of planning and organizational practices to ensure smooth operations and to meet deadlines.
Capable of working independently without direction or oversight.
- Meticulous with a keen attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy.Outstanding communications skills, including verbal and written with a good command of the English language.
Good relationship management skills and ability to work cohesively in a team environment requiring good social and interpersonal skills.
Must be able to work simultaneously on multiple projects of varying sizes and detail requirement.
Ability to cope with changing priorities, rolling deadlines and a fast-paced environment effectively.
Must be willing to work when necessary beyond normal business hours which will require travel with the teams as needed.
Computer proficiency including email, internet, MS Office Suite, social media platforms and other software applications.
Must pass background investigation.
Education and/or Experience:
Must be enrolled in GCU master’s program.
Must be able to maintain academic GPA of 3.0
Work during normal business hours, maximum of 20 hours per week
Must have valid driver's license and clean driving record.

Work involves frequent communications to relay information, recommendations, suggestions, recommendations, interpretations of data, and/or instructions to or with users, management, staff, team members using a variety of means such as telephone, one-on-one and group meetings, web conferencing, mobile device (texting/IMing) and other means as available with technology.
Work occasionally involves the ability to move about the office or move about the campus or other GCU facilities which may include use of elevators and/or climbing stairs.
Work may include operating transportation to move about the campus such as a golf cart, or otherwise self locomotion.
Work occasionally involves lifting, moving or carrying items, climbing, reaching, kneeling, stooping, bending, pushing, pulling; may move, lift or carry up to 35 pounds.
Work constantly involves mental acuity requiring planning and organizational skills, spatial recognition and placement skills, decoding information, using critical thinking skills to determine logical sequences and paths for processes, language comprehension, and to formulate sound conclusions, and concentration/focus on the task at hand; prioritizing work, tasks and activities in a logical manner and meeting deadlines and project timelines; multi-tasking; accuracy and thoroughness; solving problems and issues; utilizing math to conduct simple calculations or calculations for accounting purposes; using creativity for problem solving and formulating logical recommendations.
