Course: Philosophy of Law

This course is an introduction to topics in legal philosophy, including but not limited to the foundations of law, the relation of law and morality, law and ethics, whether persons have a duty to obey the law, the nature of property, the reasonableness of punishment, and the role of constitutions in law. Readings will be drawn from both historical and contemporary sources.

What You Will Do:

• Facilitate classroom lecture and discussions
• Engage students in learning course objectives and topics
• Assess student performance and mentor success in the classroom
• Provide a positive example to students by supporting the University’s Doctrinal Statement, Ethical Position Statement, and Mission of Grand Canyon University

What You Will Bring:

*Teaching Experience Required

• Preferred: PhD in Government OR
  • Political Science OR
  • Politics OR
  • Philosophy OR
  • Juris Doctor (JD)
• Minimum: Master's in the above areas with graduate coursework in law
• Exceptions may be granted to individuals with a Master’s in any field AND
  • 9-graduate credits in Government  
  • Substantial work/teaching experience
