Course: Finding Success as a Manufacturing Specialist
This course is designed to provide the essential skills needed to thrive in the semiconductor industry as a manufacturing specialist. Students will be introduced to topics such as pre-apprenticeship, career preparation, and industry specific skillsets needed to be successful in their new role. Additionally, the course will provide an overview of the semiconductor industry, the key company leaders in the industry, and emerging trends within the semiconductor field. Business basics and financial literacy (i.e. loans, interest rates, cash flow) will also be covered as they provide crucial skills for effective financial management. Lastly, project management and MS Office tools will be covered to emphasize the technical skills necessary for efficient project planning and execution in the performance of their new job roles and responsibilities as a manufacturing specialist.
What You Will Do:
- Facilitate classroom lecture and discussions
- Engage students in learning course objectives and topics
- Assess student performance and mentor success in the classroom
- Provide a positive example to students by supporting the University’s Doctrinal Statement, Ethical Position Statement, and Mission of Grand Canyon University
What You Will Bring:
Preferred: PhD or Master's in Electrical, Mechanical, or Chemical Engineering with 3-5 years of industry experience in semiconductor manufacturing.
Minimum: Bachelor's Degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Chemical Engineering with 5-7 years of industry experience in semiconductor manufacturing.
