The College of Nursing and Health Care Professions is seeking a full time Doctor of Nursing Practice Faculty Member.
As a full-time Faculty member, you’ll provide program instruction incorporating innovative teaching methodologies, cutting-edge technologies and other industry trends reflecting advancements in your discipline. This role is located at our main campus - 33rd and Camelback in Phoenix, Arizona
What you will do:
- Remains current with new trends and development in his/her field of expertise.
- Required to maintain the equivalent of a full course load (16 credit hours and 100 students).
- Actively assists DNP students with direct practice improvement project, serves on DNP curriculum/team meetings and QI/IRB committees.
- Faculty responsibilities include: plan, implement, and evaluate nursing degree curriculum, participate in university and community service activities, satisfy committee appointments, and engage in professional activities.
- Compiles, administers, and grades examinations, or assigns this work to others.
- Teaching, scholarship, and service are components of work expectations of faculty.
- Assume leadership for overall DNP curriculum development, implementation, and evaluation, assuring quality and adherence to standards and requirements of relevant accreditation and certification bodies, State Board of Nursing, and other relevant curricular and program standards.
- Additional responsibilities include: new program (regional, national, international) development, implementation, administration, and evaluation; preparation of accreditation and other relevant program reports; grant writing in support of the program, student recruitment, admissions, and advisement, development of informational webinars and other technology-based venues for information and ongoing program activities, teaching courses in her/his area of expertise, maintenance of an ongoing program of scholarship and dissemination (publications, presentations activities), community and academic service activities and participation in national, university, college-level committees
What you need:
- Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) required.
- Eighteen (18) hours of graduate study in a field relevant to teach responsibilities.
- Three or more years of teaching and/or relevant nursing/medical experience.
- Administrative experience preferred.
- Communication, problem solving, computer literacy, management, and organizational skills.
- Unencumbered, current RN Licensure in Arizona with multistate privileges or a compact state with multistate privileges required upon start.
- A respect for and ability to work with students.
- Evidence of involvement in one's professional area (e.g. membership in professional organizations, presentations, research, and/or publications.
- Participation in and/or support of the university program in all areas including an evident congruence with the philosophy and direction of the institution, and service to the community.
- Must successfully pass a drug test.
- Provide a positive example to students by supporting the University’s Doctrinal Statement, Ethical Position Statement and Mission of Grand Canyon University
