Course: Case Management and Crisis Intervention Skills for Addiction and Substance
This course provides foundational knowledge on stages of change, interviewing techniques, screening and assessment, report writing, record keeping, treatment planning, and case management. In addition, students develop knowledge and skill in crisis intervention in preparation for working with clients and families with addiction or substance use disorders.
What You Will Do:
- Facilitate classroom lecture and discussions
- Engage students in learning course objectives and topics
- Assess student performance and mentor success in the classroom
- Provide a positive example to students by supporting the University’s Doctrinal Statement, Ethical Position Statement, and Mission of Grand Canyon University
What You Will Bring:
- Master’s (or higher) in Professional Counseling OR
- Mental Health Counseling OR
- Addiction Counseling OR
- Clinical Psychology OR
- Marriage and Family Therapy
- AND current dependent/independent license in Counseling OR
- Substance Abuse Counseling OR
- Marriage and Family Therapy
- AND 2 years of clinical experience in addictions
- Exceptions may be granted to individuals with a current dependent/independent license in Counseling, Substance Abuse Counseling or Marriage and Family Therapy AND 2 years of clinical experience in addictions AND Masters or Doctorate in any related field
