GCU is seeking an Associate Dean of Engineering to join a rapidly growing College of Science, Engineering and Technology. This position reports directly to the Dean of the College and will play a pivotal role in fostering growth, maintaining ABET accreditation, overseeing program offerings, and developing relationships with industry partners. This is an exciting opportunity to make a significant impact on a young program with big dreams.

Please note, the Associate Dean of Engineering position is located at our main campus in Phoenix, Arizona.

What you will do:

  • Responsible for developing partnerships with industries in the region, increase the number of partnerships to accommodate students for internships, the provision of capstone projects, and employment
  • Continue the partnership with the KEEN Foundation and maintain the standards associated with the accrediting agency
  • Oversee new program development at the undergraduate level, and plan for future graduate and online programming in Engineering
  • Collaborate with industry experts and align curriculum with GCU’s Christian World View

Education and/or Experience: 

  • Doctorate in Engineering, preferably in one of the disciplines represented in the Engineering department (Mechanical, Electrical, Biomedical, Industrial)
  • Significant leadership experience in academia and/or industry
  • Thorough familiarity with academia and the various industries we prepare students for
  • Financial acumen with an emphasis on budgeting and growth strategies
  • Demonstrated success in leading successful innovative efforts
  • Ambitious and creative, possessing an appetite for calculated risk-taking
  • Desire and ability to work in an extremely dynamic, fast-paced, entrepreneurial institution
  • Preference for successful experience in online delivery of academic programs
  • A passion for students, student nurturing, holistic student development, and student success
