The College of Nursing and Health Care Professions provides indirect and direct support in the development and provision of instruction and student evaluation incorporating current teaching methodologies, technologies, and other trends that reflect advances in specific areas of the discipline associated with the individual’s teaching assignment.
Grand Canyon University has an opening for Arizona Medical Coding/Informatics Adjunct Health Care faculty members remotely (online), and we invite applications from individuals who are enthusiastic about sharing their knowledge with our students.
This adjunct (part-time) position is an online, remote opportunity for a Billing/Coding event. All materials are provided for you, requiring necessay updates.
This remote positon is on the occasional Tuesdays and/or Fridays from 8:15 AM-9:15 AM. Not every Tuesday and/or Friday is needed, as we schedule based on student demand.
Only those in Arizona will be considered.

What you will do:
- A one-hour billing and coding lecture online, as the student demand arises
- Maintain compliance with requirements for program accreditation
- Uphold the tenets of nursing as a holistic profession as well as the pillars of the University
- Participate in and/or support of the university program in all areas including an evident congruence with the philosophy and direction of the institution, and service to the community
- Provide a positive example to students by supporting the University’s Doctrinal Statement, Ethical Position Statement and Mission of Grand Canyon University
What you need:
Required: Medical coding certificate. E/M coding/auditing experience. If a nurse, must maintain an active, current, unrestricted, and unencumbered RN and/or APRN license. If an APRN, current board certification required in area of practice.
Minimum of two (2) years professional experience in billing/coding.
Preferred: Bachelors, Masters or Doctoral degree in a related health science field. HIM management experience. HRHIA or RHIT and/or CCS or CPC, AAPC, CCS, AHIMA credentials. Experience in public speaking and conference presentation.
Excellent communication skills, and the ability to build positive relationships with students.
Proficient in English, Grammar, and writing in APA format.
