Shape the bright futures of Grand Canyon University students as an online adjunct faculty member for the online division in the College of Education. Whether students are looking to start or advance their career as a teacher or administrator, GCU offers bachelor’s and master’s in education degrees in key areas including early childhood education, elementary education, and secondary education degrees, TESOL and special education.

As an adjunct faculty member, you’ll provide program instruction in an online format, incorporating innovative teaching methodologies, cutting-edge technologies and other industry trends reflecting advancements in your discipline.

ECS-560 - Child, Family, Cultural, Community Relationships, and Advocacy

ECS-562 - Early Childhood Special Ed. Practicum I: Birth - Preschool

ECS-568 - Early Childhood Special Ed. Literacy Practicum II: Kindergarten - Grade 3

ECS-580 - Developmentally Appropriate Instruction: ELA, Social Studies, and Arts

ECS-585 - Developmentally Appropriate Instruction: STEM Subjects

ECS-590 - Assessment, Evaluation, and Reporting for Early Childhood/Special Education

ECS-598 - Student Teaching Experiences: Early Childhood & Early Childhood Special Ed

Responsibilities:

Responsibilities include equipping students with the required skill set, facilitating classroom discussions, assessing student performance and preparing students to be successful leaders in their chosen profession.  Other main responsibilities include the following:

  • Provide a positive example to students by supporting the University’s Doctrinal Statement, Ethical Position Statement and Mission of Grand Canyon University.

Qualifications:

  • Preferred Doctorate Ed. Leadership, Curr. And Inst., Inst. Leadership, Early Childhood Ed., Early Childhood Special Ed., Special Ed., or related field.
  • Alternatively, a master’s degree in one of these fields AND two areas of exceptional expertise.
  • All instructors must have a valid state teaching certification or endorsement in Early Childhood Ed., Early Childhood Special Ed., or Special Ed. AND five years of teaching experience in a birth-K3 inclusion or special education setting.
