Grand Canyon University has an opening for Adjunct ACNP/AGACNP faculty members, and we invite applications from individuals who are enthusiastic about sharing their knowledge with our APRN students.

This adjunct PRN hybrid (online/with in-person components) position supports the primary instructor by providing indirect clinical oversight to 8-10 students in a 16-week class.

What you will do:

  • Provide indirect clinical oversight of 8-10 students
  • Complete weekly hour and encounter verifications in LAT
  •  Complete midterm and final evaluations in collaboration with preceptor and students by live zoom or face to face
  • Create any needed remediation success plans and follow up with student and preceptor
  • Collaborate with Clinical coordinator on any face-to-face site visits needed
  • Participate in On Campus Experiences of a minimum of 4 days every semester (16 weeks)
  •  Substitute coverage for primary instructor when PTO or personal time is taken (to include ground teaching when applicable)
  • Attend all faculty college meetings as scheduled
  • Attend team meetings as scheduled
  • Maintain compliance with requirements for program accreditation
  • Uphold the tenets of nursing as a holistic profession as well as the pillars of the University
  • Participate in and/or support of the university program in all areas including an evident congruence with the philosophy and direction of the institution, and service to the community
  • Provide a positive example to students by supporting the University’s Doctrinal Statement, Ethical Position Statement and Mission of Grand Canyon University

What you need:

  • MSN: Acute Care Nurse Practitioner or Adult Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (ACNP/AGACNP)
  • Minimum of two 2 years professional experience in an ACNP or AGACNP role
  • Active, current, and unencumbered ACNP/AGACNP Arizona state license required
  • Please make your Arizona state ACNP/AGACNP license clear on your resume
  • An active, current, unencumbered, and multi-state (compact) RN license or an AZ state RN license
  • National board certification - ACNP/AGACNP specific
  • Must be located in Arizona, at the time of application
  • Successfully pass a drug test
  • Excellent communication skills, and the ability to build positive relationships with students
