Shape the bright futures of Grand Canyon University students as a full time Faculty member for the traditional ground campus in the College of Nursing and Health Care Professions. The College boasts a rich 30-year history providing outstanding health care and nursing degree programs. Students can earn their RN to BSN, or a master’s in nursing degree specializing in advanced patient care or in the emerging fields of health care administration, management, or public health.

The College of Nursing and Health Care Professions is seeking a full time Lecturer for the Bachelors of Science in Health Care Administration program.  Please note, this position is a ground position at our Phoenix campus and is NOT remote. This is also a 9 month position and requires one to teach 32 hours a week. 

Responsibilities:

  • Teaches courses within the requisite discipline/major and/or general education courses if assigned, including facilitation of "Explore More" sessions.
  • Develops and provides instruction that incorporates current teaching methodologies, technologies and other trends that reflect advances in the requisite discipline educational instruction.
  • Engages students within classroom to stimulate discussions for collective learning.
  • Incorporates relevant research resources and experiential activities to support course objectives, lectures and learning outcomes.
  • Compiles bibliographies of specialized materials for outside reading.
  • Assists students outside classroom hours (8-9 hours per week).
  • Assesses student performance in accordance with University Assessment Practices.
  • Engages regularly in professional development activities
  • Maintains compliance with all college and University policies and program accreditation/licensure requirements.
  • Serve as Faculty Advisor for the Future Health Care Administrative Club.

Required Qualifications:

  • Master’s of Science in Healthcare Administration or Health related field required. PhD or DHA preferred.
  • Minimum two years’ teaching at collegiate level required or extensive industry knowledge may be substituted based upon the dean’s approval.
  • Specialized knowledge of discipline areas may be required.
  • Must successfully pass a drug test.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office suite.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, project management, and highly effective presentation skills.
  • Ability to effectively and persuasively present College of Nursing and Health Care Professions related information to senior management levels. 
  • Provide a positive example to students by supporting the University’s Doctrinal Statement, Ethical Position Statement and Mission of Grand Canyon University.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Doctoral Degree or PhD in Health Care Administration or a Doctor of Health Administration preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years’ higher education teaching experience that includes teaching courses, conducting and managing learning experiences and evaluating student achievement.
  • Understanding of the various methods of adult learning, education deployment/deliver including distance education/online services and classroom.
  • Demonstrated excellence in teaching across multiple modalities.
  • Demonstrated engagement in the integration of Christianity with the required discipline.
