Positions with our admissions and counseling teams require great communication skills and a passion for helping students begin their journey toward a higher education.

University Admissions Counselors

At Grand Canyon University there are two types of university admissions counselors roles. To help foster student growth in both our online and ground campus programs GCU employs university admissions counselors for both areas.

University admissions counselors for GCU's traditional ground campus focus on student outreach and communication with high schools and community colleges within their assigned territory. The goal of the university admissions counselor is to build relationships with both administrators and students, and to help showcase why GCU provides a great opportunity for graduating high school students or students seeking to transfer colleges. Individuals who enjoy working with young adults, or have experience in traditional education will likely be a great fit for this role.

University admissions counselors for GCU's online division assist students seeking to continue their education in our online learning environment in finding the GCU program that best fits their needs. This role includes building relationships in an assigned territory with local organizations to generate awareness of opportunities for their employees or military personnel to participate in GCU's online programs. Individuals who have strong customer service skills, with experience in business development and territory management, and enjoy helping people learn about GCU's online programs will likely be a good fit for the online university admissions counselor position.

Online Admissions Counselor/ Admissions Counselor

You’ll help students achieve educational goals and create meaningful futures at GCU. This role serves as the first point of contact for interested students and acts as an information resource during initial fact-finding conversations. Our counselors continue to build relationships with our students throughout the education process in order to improve student retention.

Student Services Counselor

This role advises students on a variety of subjects from financial aid to course selection and class credit monitoring. The overall responsibility of the role is to ensure students are in good standing with the university and on target to achieve their educational goals.

Qualifying Specialist

This position is ideal for candidates in the earlier stages of their career that may not yet have a college degree. This role is focused around helping prospective students identify whether the educational opportunities at Grand Canyon University are a fit for them and then directing them to an enrollment counselor who can provide additional and more detailed information.

Management Opportunities

Due to GCU’s phenomenal growth, we offer a great place to grow your career. Most of our management positions in admissions and counseling are filled by internal candidates. If you’re looking for a great organization where you can learn the ropes and move into management, you’ve come to the right place!
