CYB-525: Technology Implementation of Security Solutions
This course examines the tools and technologies used to secure an organization’s intellectual property. Students will consider encryption, hardware security, software vulnerabilities, remote access technologies, and layered security defense strategies in the development of secure architectures. A technology-focused course, students will provide effective solutions around firewalls, networking, server security, database and website protocols, and VPN configurations.
Responsibilities include equipping students with the required skill set, facilitating classroom discussions, assessing student performance and preparing students to be successful leaders in their chosen profession. Other main responsibilities include the following:
- Provide a positive example to students by supporting the University’s Doctrinal Statement, Ethical Position Statement, and Mission of Grand Canyon University.
- Experience: 5+ years experience in Cyber Security related field with skills in risk analysis, governance, compliance, and security program development, with knowledge and practice of security hardening techniques and industry best practices including layered-security, encryption, and cyber security frameworks.
- Education: Doctorate in Information Technology or Doctorate in Computer Science or Doctorate in Computer Information or equivalent experience in the appropriate fields is required.
- Certifications (Preferred): Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) or Certified Information Systems Manager (CISM) or Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA).
