Course Description: MIS-690- Applied Capstone Project
This course builds upon the techniques and tools presented in prior courses in the program. Students undertake an applied project focused on a specific area of analytics within an organization. Students use critical thinking skills to frame analytics problems, build and apply appropriate analytics models, and communicate relevant findings within a business setting.
** This course is taught in the evening on the GCU Main Campus - Phoenix, AZ
** Course will run 9/26/19 - 11/20/19 and meets on Wednesday evenings from 5:30pm - 9:30pm.
Responsibilities include equipping students with the required skill set, facilitating classroom discussions, assessing student performance and preparing students to be successful leaders in their chosen profession.
- Preferred: PhD or other terminal degree with an emphasis in Information Systems or related data/analytics degree.
- Minimum: Masters in Business Administration (MBA) or Masters in Information Systems AND 5 or more years of experience in computer information systems or related data analysis/analytics position. Additional required skills in statistical data mining skills AND R Statistical language or equivalent AND Descriptive and Predictive and Prescriptive statistics.
- Provide a positive example to students by supporting the University’s Doctrinal Statement, Ethical Position Statement and Mission of Grand Canyon University.
