Grand Canyon University’s College of Science, Engineering, and Technology is currently seeking a Program Director for its Technology programs.  The Program Director will be responsible for assisting College leadership in developing and managing both academic and operational aspects of the various disciplines within the Science division of the College of Science, Engineering and Technology. Activities and outcomes focus on creating a premier learning atmosphere and a collegiate community in which mastery of program objectives prepares highly-qualified, successful, and sought after graduates.


The Program Director works closely with the Assistant/Associate Dean in the following areas as required:

Program Management

  • Organize and administer the technology programs by ensuring that all standards and competencies for the programs are maintained.
  • Monitor student performance in technology courses across multiple disciplines and determine intervention strategies for improving performance.
  • Assist the College leadership in recruiting, interviewing, hiring, staffing, and managing all science full-time faculty and adjunct faculty.
  • Communicate departmental policies, issues, and changes to technology faculty.
  • Ensure student satisfaction with technology programs and oversee changes when necessary
  • Support recruitment and enrollment efforts.
  • Assist in organizing and administering the faculty and student research programs
  • Participate in budget planning.
  • Coordinate and oversee Dual Enrollment activities including course development, oversight of instructors, and classroom observations.
  • Assist the College leadership in supporting the university mission, including the focus on Christian worldview.

Program Development

  • Assist with coordination and oversight of curriculum and program development.
  • Assist with the development of documentation for accreditation.
  • Assist with oversight of instruction and development of instructional support materials. 
  • Assist in obtaining subject matter experts for both course content and lesson planning.
  • Assist with making sure that enrollment team has all necessary information and documentation necessary to perform their role.


  • Assist dean’s offices in all aspects of college or departmental operations as needed.
  • Work with students in advisement and mentoring.
  • Maintain positive relationships with administrators, faculty, students, and colleagues at the department, college, and university levels.
  • Assist in identification and development of internal and external community relationships that promote and support the technology programs, college, and university.
  • Teach one section per term.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Master's Degree from a regionally-accredited institution.
  • Able to provide a positive example to students by supporting the University’s Doctrinal Statement, Ethical Position Statement and Mission of Grand Canyon University.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Doctoral degree in a technical, education, or educational administration field from a regionally-accredited institution.
  • 2+ years of experience in educational administration, including program design and management, student success, and/or accreditation and assessment.
