Grand Canyon University’s Academic Web Services department is seeking a full time Multimedia Designer. This role primarily designs and builds animated objects, interactive media, video tutorials, and simulations to support curricular needs.

As needed, this role will also support additional initiatives or academic materials identified by academic stakeholders where learning via media will enhance academic outcomes.  Responsible to design and create information technology based multimedia products such as websites, DVDs, interactive learning games that combine text with sounds, pictures, graphics, video-clips, virtual reality and digital animation.

Responsibilities:

  • Create and design applications of "interactivity" into curriculum course work to aid learning
  • Work as a member of project team to produce required multimedia design
  • Work as member of project team in single focus, non-complex customer projects.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, fine arts, digital film and/or business, computer science, systems design or any other related information technology field. An equivalent combination of relevant work experience and education may be substituted upon approval.
  • Minimum of one year experience in creating video work.
  • Progressively responsible experience in the conceptualization, design, and production of animation and graphics; experience in a non-linear video and audio editing/production and/or Web development environment.
  • Knowledge of Dreamweaver, Photoshop, Muse, Adobe Illustrator, HTML5, CSS3 , and Microsoft Office
  • Knowledge of JavaScript frameworks (Jqery, JSON, Moo Tools, etc)
  • Excellent knowledge of current web-design trends and techniques with an emphasis on the user-interface/user-experience design
  • Experience with Windows and OSX operating systems
  • Provide a positive example to students by supporting the University’s Doctrinal Statement, Ethical Position Statement and Mission of Grand Canyon University.
