Shape the bright futures of Grand Canyon University students as an Instructional Assistant for the traditional ground campus in the College of Engineering and Technology .  Through hands-on, inquiry-based learning, the college provides an outlet for innovation and cross-disciplinary exposure.

This is a face-to-face part time opportunity. MUST be available to come to the main campus.

This position is a part-time Teaching Assistant position. It meets every Wednesday & Friday from 3pm - 7pm for the Fall 2024 semester.

Responsibilities:

Responsibilities include equipping students with the required skill set, facilitating classroom discussions, assessing student performance and preparing students to be successful leaders in their chosen profession.  Other main responsibilities include the following:

  • Responsibilities include equipping students with the required skill set, facilitating classroom discussions, assessing student performance and preparing students to be successful leaders in their chosen profession. 
  • Assists instruction with in-class activities, including proctoring examinations.
  • Observes students’ performance, and records relevant data to aid instructor in assessing progress
  • Coordinates study groups outside of class to tutor students on class material
  • May facilitate additional ad hoc lectures as a refresher to classroom formal lecture
  • Assists with grading assignments
  • Proctors occasional make up examinations/assignments
  • Provide a positive example to students by supporting the University’s Doctrinal Statement, Ethical Position Statement and Mission of Grand Canyon University.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree from accredited institution, must completed upon application submission (preferred). Minimum: Associate Degree (or higher) must be completed upon application submission. 
  • Must have sufficient courses in Electrical Trades, Electrical Wiring and Foundations as well as having received a grade of B or higher in these courses. OR... Journeyman wireman or licensed electrician with a minimum of ten years’ field experience.
  • Provide a positive example to students by supporting the University’s Doctrinal Statement, Ethical Position Statement and Mission of Grand Canyon University.
