Grand Canyon University’s Athletic department is currently seeking an Athletics Administration Coordinator.  This role is responsible for assisting the Vice President of Athletics and the Athletic Leadership Team with general day to day operations including compliance, business operations, special events and other duties as assigned.  The successful candidate should have a strong passion for intercollegiate athletics and should be dedicated to pursuing a career in Athletics Administration.  This position will work closely with the Vice President of Athletics and his Leadership Team in advancing the overall mission of the athletic department. 

Responsibilities:

  • Provide general support to the Compliance, Academics and other student-athlete support services areas 
  • Coordinate all travel arrangements, reimbursements and other clerical needs for the Vice President of Athletics and Leadership Team. 
  • Provide support for standing meetings including developing agendas, recording, composing and distributing minutes. 
  • Manage scheduling for the Vice President of Athletics. 
  • Manage the main Athletics phone line and Vice President of Athletics phone line. 
  • Field phone calls and greet visitors providing clear direction of referrals when appropriate. 
  • Assist with administrative tasks in recruiting. 
  • Assist with developing and implementing new staff orientation. 
  • Assist with developing and implement Athletics on-boarding process.
  • Reconciling and reviewing of expenses.
  • Assist the Vice President of Athletics in executing Special Events.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • 1-2 years relevant experience.
  • Excellent interpersonal, oral and written skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills with strong attention to detail.
  • Provide a positive example to students by supporting the University’s Doctrinal Statement, Ethical Position Statement and Mission of Grand Canyon University.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Graduate degree. 
  • 1-2 years experience in Division 1 athletic administration.
