Shape the bright futures of Grand Canyon University students as an adjunct faculty member for the traditional ground campus in the College of Fine Arts and Production, which offers programs in theatre, dance education, music education, digital design with specialization in animation and web design, and digital film with specializations in production or screenwriting.

As an adjunct faculty member, you’ll provide program instruction incorporating innovative teaching methodologies, cutting-edge technologies and other industry trends reflecting advancements in your discipline.  If you are highly motivated and passionate about teaching exceptional quality instruction in modern facilities with smaller class sizes, we’d like to hear from you. 

Course Description: DDN-350 - Web Design II

Fall Semester Start: 8/25/2017

This course typically runs Mon-Fri between the hours of 7AM to 4PM, and is located on our main GCU campus, in Phoenix, Arizona.

NOTE: APPLICANTS MUST INCLUDE A LINK WITHIN THE RESUME THAT PROVIDES ACCESS TO INDUSTRY EXPERIENCE A/ WORK EXAMPLES IN WEB DESIGN.

This course focuses on intermediate Web design from concept development-including roughs and wireframes-to design comps and interactives. Students create sitemaps, flow diagrams, and basic user tests to help determine nomenclature, as well as wireframes that represent working models with page elements and functional specifications. Students learn to apply a variety of Web design tools for Web site production and usability, as well as to conduct accessibility testing. Prerequisites: DDN-300. Technology requirement: Students provide their own laptop and subscription to the Adobe Creative Cloud.

Responsibilities:

Responsibilities include equipping students with the required skill set, facilitating classroom discussions, assessing student performance and preparing students to be successful leaders in their chosen profession. 

  • Provide a positive example to students by supporting the University’s Doctrinal Statement, Ethical Position Statement and Mission of Grand Canyon University.

Qualifications:

Minimum: Bachelors with Computer Science Certification or Bachelors with Web Design/Design AND industry experience AND approval by Dean or 2 years University instruction experience.

Preferred: Masters or other terminal degree AND 2 years University instruction experience.
