Shape the bright futures of Grand Canyon University students as an adjunct faculty member for the traditional ground campus in the College of Fine Arts and Production, which offers programs in theatre, dance education, music education, digital design with specialization in animation and web design, and digital film with specializations in production or screenwriting.

Course Description: DDN-220 - 2D Animation Design

Fall Semester Start: August, 2017

This course runs as follows:

Tuesday/Thursday- 4:30 -6:00 PM, and is located on our main GCU campus, in Phoenix, Arizona.

This course introduces the principles of animation, bringing objects to life using established principles of squash and stretch, key framing, and basic timing techniques. Vector-based design tools are used to create moving design. This course includes reading, writing, and lab assignments and requires the creation and exhibition of student artwork. Prerequisites: DDN-110. Technology requirement: Students provide their own laptop and subscription to the Adobe Creative Cloud.

Responsibilities:

Responsibilities include equipping students with the required skill set, facilitating classroom discussions, assessing student performance and preparing students to be successful leaders in their chosen profession. 

  • Provide a positive example to students by supporting the University’s Doctrinal Statement, Ethical Position Statement and Mission of Grand Canyon University.

Qualifications:

Minimum: Bachelors with 2D Animation coursework AND industry experience AND approval by Dean or 2 years University instruction experience

Preferred: Masters or other terminal degree AND 2 years University instruction experience.
