Make a Difference at Grand Canyon University

Shape the bright futures of Grand Canyon University students as an Instructional Assistant for the traditional ground campus in the College of Science, Engineering and Technology .  Through hands-on, inquiry-based learning, the college provides an outlet for innovation and cross-disciplinary exposure.

COURSE DESCRIPTION: ESG-250 - Computer Aided Engineering & Lab

This course introduces CAD features, including fundamentals of 3D modeling for design. Includes overview of modeling, graphical manipulation, part structuring, coordinate system, and developing a strategy of modeling. CAD software enables students to make the transition from 2D drafting to 3D modeling. Students use symbolic math software and 3D modeling tools to visualize and solve engineering problems. The course emphasizes industry practices for modeling parts, extracting drawings, and creating assemblies. Prerequisite: MAT-261.

This course is located on our main GCU campus in Phoenix, AZ. The Instructional Assistant must be available during these hours in order to be considered for the position.

ESG-250-MWF700- GRADER ONLY

Responsibilities:

Responsibilities include equipping students with the required skill set, facilitating classroom discussions, assessing student performance and preparing students to be successful leaders in their chosen profession.  Other main responsibilities include the following:

  • Stay updated and prepared for the classroom agenda and material
  • Facilitate group activities

                                           

    Qualifications:

    Preferred: B.S. in Biomedical Engineering or B.S. in Mechanical Engineering. Candidates must have a grade "B" or better in this course as listed on education transcripts.
